Jim Templeton

Jim Erasmus Lime Templeton (born 1953) is a Manchester-born performance poet.
==Career==
Templeton has published just one work in 25 years, but is well known for performance and for refusing to write down the majority of his poetry, insisting instead that each piece lives and changes with each day. He announced on his Twitter feed and at the West Lakes Literary Festival that a larger collection of works "The Ramifications of Felix" will be released in 2015. In March the release of the new book was delayed due to "legal issues" with speculation on Poetry News 〔https://twitter.com/poetrynews/status/574963965710745656〕 that Templeton did not wish to have the book released at all.
Templeton began performing poems in the slam bars of New York City and drew the attention of actor Marlon Brando who famously championed his work and was rumoured to fund him for many years. Still performing internationally in venues large and small, he has appeared at several literary festivals since 2000 and his official Twitter feed now states "taking bookings for 2015". Templeton let slip in a Radio Lancashire interview on the 1/1/2015 that he now lives "on the Fylde coast".
He has collaborated with the musician Itchy Ear. for which they won the 2011 Music Avant Garde Derision prize at the Cannes Mutli-Language Creative Arts Festival.
Templeton's PhD is from the University of Essex, and he has occasionally taught at that institution and at the University of London.
Fans of his work call themselves "Jelheads" 〔http://erasmusu.com/en/erasmus-lime-hall/erasmus-experiences/perfect-place-for-a-jelhead-80181〕
